Aluen CAP – Slow Release Varroa Treatment

Varroa destructor remains one of the biggest challenges in modern beekeeping, and with resistance to synthetic miticides increasing, beekeepers are seeking practical and sustainable alternatives.

Aluen CAP is an innovative slow-release oxalic acid treatment recently approved for use in Australia. Using durable cellulose strips placed directly in the brood nest, the treatment provides continuous mite control over a 42-day period, covering two full brood cycles.

As bees move across the strips, they gradually distribute the oxalic acid throughout the colony, helping reduce phoretic mite populations as they emerge from brood cells. Field trials across multiple countries have shown efficacy levels averaging close to 96%.
